Reporting to: Managing Director, Kamloops and Director of Marketing, Communications, and Brand, Calgary
Fulfillthe mission and values of The Mustard Seed and maintain a high level ofprofessionalism, respect and gratitude with all staff, donors, volunteers,community members and visitors.
Communicatethe story of The Mustard Seed’s ministry to volunteers, visitors, and donors.
Deliverprograms and services with excellence, as demonstrated through measurableoutcomes, accreditation, and quality assurance.
Modelhealthy relationships with staff, donors, volunteers and community participantsby listening, praying, and referring.
Prepare amonthly report that include statistics, concerns, successes and program updates.
Otherduties may be assigned.
COMMUNICATIONSDUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clearlycommunicate the mission, vision, core values and story of The Mustard Seed in Kamloopswith both internal (staff and volunteers) and external (donors, media,businesses, agencies and churches) audiences.
Write keymessaging for media releases, public service announcements, etc.
Assist inproviding stories and photography for Social Media channels in Kamloops.
Preparetimely communications materials and promotional items in support ofprogramming, fundraising, and special events.
Developpartnerships with local media outlets and provide media reports.
Assistwith the writing and research of the quarterly newsletter to meet timelines,write articles, assist with editing/layout, and liaise with external vendors.
Assist inproviding communication support for events.
Participateas a team member in the communication strategy and planning for The MustardSeed.
Otherduties as may be assigned.
VOLUNTEER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinatethe intake of short and long-term volunteers including telephone interviews,background screening, training and placement.
Maintainsystems and procedures for volunteer appreciation, orientation and training.
Respondingto volunteer inquiries via email and phone.
Activelyrecruit new volunteers and interns.
OverseeInterns applications and reviews.
Contributeto recruitment, engagement return and retention of volunteers and interns.
Implement,merge and maintenance our existent volunteer’s data to our new volunteerdatabase system.
Create andmaintain relationships with established schools, churches, corporate and familyvolunteers.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
A passionto be part of ending homelessness in Canada.
UniversityDegree or equivalent work experience in a relevant field is preferred (i.e.Marketing, Volunteer Management, Customer Service, etc.).
Goal-orientedwith a passion to build hope and wellbeing for those living in poverty.
Strongcompetency and experience using data management systems, software programs, MSOffice, SharePoint and social media tools.
Ability tomanage multiple projects and adhere to strict deadlines.
Previousexperience working with volunteers is required.
Enjoyworking in a fast – paced role that involves multi – tasking and managing adiverse workload.
Self -motivated and able to work independently and with multiple teams.
Excellentproblem – solving and customer service skills.
Strongwritten and verbal communication skills.
Excellentadministration, time management and organizational skills.
Previousexperience working with a marginalized population, particularly the homeless isconsidered an asset.
Personalvehicle, $2 million liability insurance and a valid class 5 driver’s licenseare required
Full-timework schedule. May require time on evenings and weekends.
Work fromthe office will be required, as well as the ability to work independently andin a team.
Mentaleffort: moderate, periods of high-volume workload
Travellingand driving required to various external agencies, various jobs, and drivingfrom site to site.

This position requires the use of apersonal vehicle for company use. The candidate must have a valid driver’slicence and maintain $2M Vehicle Liability insurance on the vehicle being used.
