Salary Band: $53,419 – $66,774/year

Reporting to the Director, Communications, Ontario, and as a member of the communications team you will develop, coordinate and implement marketing and communications plans to support and achieve National, Provincial and Branch goals. You will also provide internal and external communications and marketing direction to departments, national working groups, senior management and branches.

As an Advisor-Communications In this role you will:
Plan, develop, implement and evaluate communications and marketing plans for Red Cross programs and products.

Provide public education, campaign and special event support.

Promote Red Cross programs and services and public education initiatives through media relations and provincial digital channels.

Support day-to-day operations, as well as related emergency response operations.

Assist with media relations during domestic and international disaster responses and promotional campaigns.

Produce content for print publications and on line channels including the web site and blog by sourcing stories, interviewing staff, volunteers and beneficiaries and writing channel-appropriate content.

What we are looking for:
University degree or College Diploma/ Certificate in communications, journalism, public relations, or marketing.

Five to seven years of job-related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Strong communication skills (written and oral), interpersonal and organizational acuity.

Working conditions:
Majority of work is performed in a virtual environment (work from home).

May be required to work non-traditional hours to meet the needs of the organization during times of a disaster response and/or appeal.

Will participate in on-call media line rotation, including after hours.

This position requires successful completion of criminal record and professional reference checks.
